Hi, all. I have a question for anyone who uses the Qube as their PC twitter client. I had thought that the keystroke to follow someone was Control-Windows-L. That's what the ReadMe says, too. However, when I try to do this, I get a box that says, "Select language." So, do I have the keystroke wrong? Anyone know why I'm getting this? Thanks.
I've never heard of this and thus can't comment, but I've been looking for an accessible twitter client. Does this one work okay ?
I also use The Qube as my PC Twitter client, and you do have the correct command to follow someone Alicia; at least, that's what it was in the past.
however, I've found that it doesn't work, in this most recent version of The Qube.
I've read that they've made some major changes to the way the client works, which might explain why this issue is present. still, I wonder why they didn't/wouldn't say anything about it in the readme file.
The documentation needs to be updated.
They did mention the key change on their twitter account, something about it conflicting with jaws 16.
The keystroke you're looking for is now CTRL + WIN + S, to follow somewone.
Add the shift key to unfollow.
That keystroke apparently switches languages in jaws 16, but I wouldn't know, cause I've decided to not renew my SMA.
I use chicken nugget personally, though did use the cube before. I did like what I wsaw wit the older version, but couldn't get the new version to work on my windows 7 even with admin rights. they've done updates since that particular version and i haven't tested it to see. 7
Hi, all. Actuyally, Leo Guaridan was the first to answer me on this on Twitter, but thank you all for your answers here, too, especially because they elaborate on some of what he told me.
Yes, Blind Guardian, the Qube is very accessible. If you ever used Qwitter, that's what it's based off of. It used to be Qwitter's clone, but now, because of JAWS 16, they're having to make changes to it.
Thanks for the info, Cool Turk. Yep, this is a JAWS 16 issue. Which, as a side note, JAWS 16 sucks, but I digress. Leo told me how you can remove that specific keystroke from the JAWS keyboard manager, or you can use Insert 3 to pass the old keystroke through JAWS when you want to use it. But thanks for the new one.
yes, thanks for the new one.
John, if you wanna use the latest version of The Qube, there is no reason why you can't; all you have to do is uninstall it, go to your program files, completely delete the qube folder, get the latest version of The Qube from the website, install it, and you should be good to go.
it's a lot of steps, but I hope that helps. if you need any other help, let me know and I'll try to assist you.
here's a tip though: what I did to speed the process up, was to already have the website opened before I completed those other steps; that way, I could easily go to the download link when the time came.
Thank you Alicia, that's good to know. I don't think I gave Quitter a fair chance last time, likely because JAWS wasn't properly reading it - an issue I now understand and have resolved. Perhaps the next time I attempt to give Twitter a chance I'll check it out. Better than using the website or the Iphone app.
since BG brought up the Twitter iPhone app, which I think is good (only for the fact that it allows you to accept follower requests if your account is protected), I thought I'd make people aware that there is an iPhone app called Twitterrific, that's fantastic, in my opinion.
for the few android users here tweetings works well.
I've heard Twitterific is good, and so is TweetList. That's the one I use. I don't like the default Twitter app on the iPhone.
